2007 Final Atlantic Bluefin Tuna Landings

The quota for the 2007 fishing year, which ran from June 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007 was 1,654.2 MT. Final landings are shown in the table below. Less than 14% of the commercial quota was landed. Note that the quota in the table is less than the total quota because only large medium and giant class fish are included in the table's Angling Category record. An additional 263 MT landings are allowable in the recreational category for smaller fish. Landings of the smaller recreational fish totaled 457.9 MT, nearly double the quota. When the commercial underage and recreational overage are combined, approximately 40% (656 MT) of the overall 2007 U.S. quota was utilized.
